Biography

Julie Tremblay,born in Québec in 1972, obtained her Master’s of Fine Arts at the Pratt Institute (NY). She works and live in Brooklyn, New York. She exhibited twice at the Pratt Institue at the beginning of her carreer (1997 and 1996) and more recenlty at the Nassau Museum in New York (2012). She finished her first residency in Paris in august 2013 at Générateur Rx, Ivry-sur-Seine and will be part of a group exhibition at The Sinaloa Museum of Art, Culiacan, Mexico curated by Lara Balderrama and Alejandro Jassan.
She was commissioned by La Maison Simons for a large scale installation for their new store in Gatineau, Quebec.

Exhibitions

Julie Tremblay - Continuum

"Un continuum est un infini contenu à l'intérieur de quelque chose de défini. C'est aussi quelque chose qui passe d'un état à un autre, sans changement abrupte. Les œuvres présentées dans cette exposition, ont en commun, qu'ou bien elles semblent contenir en elles un infini, une abstraction, ou qu'elles semblent se compléter dans une autre dimension, ou espace imaginaire. Leur référence au corps humain n'est pas une fin en soi, mais plutôt un véhicule de métaphores qui nous parlent de nos vies modernes et désacralisées." La galerie Zidoun accueillera en cette rentrée les oeuvres poétiques et aérienne de l'artiste Julie Tremblay. Le vernissage aura lieu le Jeudi 8 Septembre à partir de 18h, en présence de l'artiste. L'exposition se poursuivra jusqu'au 5 Novembre.
